Generalized Geological & Seismic Work Flow
- Wednesday, August 19, 2015
- Correlate well logs (pick well tops, markers, unconformities, faults, etc.)
- Produce subsurface mapping for various relevant sands, markers, horizons and fault plane maps including dipmeter logs, etc.
- Quality check the seismic data set(s)
- Acquire 2-D/3-D data set(s)
- Create the project in Kingdom software (or other software group)
- Load all 3-D data set .SGY processing versions into Kingdom software (preferably each processing version can be loaded into a uniquely named “data
type”)
- Generate time slice volumes for all processing versions (except gathers)
- Locate, input and apply velocity functions where applicable
- Locate and load culture data (sections/townships, wells, highways/roads, air photos, etc.)
- Check/confirm selected well spotting & directional well paths (verify directional surveys), etc.
- Input/import well log ground elevations and rig derrick floor heights
- Input/import well log tops, fault cuts, production and perforation data, etc.
- Load selected raster and digital well log images as needed
- Interpret seismic data, pick horizons, faulting, unconformities, etc.
- Scroll through time slice volumes in search of fault patterns, structures, etc.
- Perform synthetic work to determine vertical tie, phase of data, observe frequency distribution, etc.
- Generate and apply hybrid velocity functions where necessary
- Produce time structure and other maps
- Cross reference 3-D seismic time maps with subsurface mapping
- Identify & delineate drilling and/or re-completion opportunities, etc.
